Mute groups not working when sequencer is running

I noticed with my 2500 and JJOS OSXL 3.45 that mute groups don't work when the sequencer is playing. If it stop it and play two pads set to the same mute group, it works fine and they cut each other off. Once I hit play though, it no longer works. Anybody have any workaround for this or know what's causing it?

thats weird. so your program is in poly and your samples are using target or mute group in program? there is two ways to set it, do you get same result with the different ways?

That's exactly what I was doing wrong. I had a crash on one track cutting off a rise efx on another track and it wasn't working, yet my open hat would cut off my closed hat since they were on the same track. I thought I was going crazy.
