Young RJ touches on the Swing at the 1:00 mark. This method has worked out better for me with time correct off applying my own swing.

MTC is all you need to sync a DAW with your MPC's sequencer. Word Clock sync'd is only used if you are connecting two or more digital devices via S/PDIF, ADAT, AES/EBU, and TDIF. If your MPC is connected to your audio interface via analog I/O, you will not be using Word Clock as there is no two digital audio sources requiring sync. Your DAW is set to internal (Master) and there are no Slaves. You are mistaken on this subject.

I am not mistaken, you are uneducated and unaware of it.

Word clock sync is used to with MTC and SMPTE as well, to sync the timebase of two devices, to prevent drift when using MTC, not just with digital audio connections.

If the speed of the timecode master deviates from the nominal value, you may need to split long audio regions into shorter sections.

◦External or Free:Logic Pro has no influence on the sample rate. The audio hardware is responsible for ensuring that the position and sample rate of audio regions match. This mode is only advisable if you are sure that the Word Clock and timecode master are running in sync—by using an external SMPTE or Word Clock synchronizer, for example.

Day 2-3 of you writing things on a topic that you don't fully understand. The articles you provided links to do nothing to back up your claims. I posted several references to help you understand the topic. Please read again to educate yourself.

Word Clock only applies to syncing two digital audio sources. A DAW, an Audio Interface, and an MPC connected via analog outputs does not require Word Clock. There is no two digital audio sources that need to be locked.

If you connect your MPC to an AD/DA converter using S/PDIF, only then will Word Clock come into play. MTC is Timecode Sync. I understand how Timecode and Word Clock can be confusing. But they serve different purposes.
