Successor of JJ sequencer in the JJ graveyard? Don't tell me one of us ever requested that :)

Click and drag for volume up/down and pan would be betterer than scroll wheel.

Wow! Wow! Wow!

Speechless about this development... Go JJ! Go!!!
I welcome this and any advancement that will ease the physical use of the Knobs and Tact Switches on the MPC.

Thank you JJ for continued development and support for MPC.

Is the mouse plugged into the MPC, or is it plugged into a computer, with the computer translating the mouse movements/clicks into MIDI messages, and sending those MIDI messages into the MPC to control it?

Maybe this sort of thing...

http://www.vimidi.com/

...sending MIDI messages to the normal JJOS MIDI front panel button control.

In the video you see the various MPC buttons/etc. being assigned to incoming MIDI messages.

EDIT: Missed the part of the video where you can see the computer application that translates it, so yeah, not really anything new in the MPC, is it?

Seems pretty pointless, but I haven't used a mouse for years and have no intention of ever using one again anyway. :fku:

Not to hate by principle, I've just tried it for 5 minutes.
I've brung my MPC next to my computer. My feedback is for a 1K with a small flat screen.

So of course if you really use your MPC you'll never put a mouse mat on top of your pads :)
Compared to the video, my mouse scrolls quickly in mixer mode. I guess it depends on the settings in Windows. And the 1K screen is smaller as well.

My setup is WINDOW for left button and MAIN for right button in the MOUSE.EXE

If you always run a computer with your MPC this app could make the workflow faster than ever. The problem is it doesn't go over Fkeys so you still have to press a lot of buttons on the MPC and switch back and forth. Not super practical.

Imo, there should be a new feature called "switch to fkeys" in the MIDI/BUTTON mode and find a way to click over these keys.

Otherwise I'm afraid the workflow won't go any faster.

I'll create a topic in the bug section to list what is difficult to do with the MPC MOUSE.
Don't hesitate to come and participate in this topic.

Example : In OS2XL LOAD MODE if you press the right cursor over a folder you go into this same folder. It's a nightmare if your mouse is too sensitive. Same for program mode if you're at the border between 2 fkeys.
