MIDI learn functionality with external MIDI controllers

Hi, I could not find any mention of a 'MIDI learn' feature on both the Essentials and the Studio software manuals, so I was wandering to what extent an external MIDI controller (keyboard/faders/knobs) can interact with the MPC Essentials software:

- is it possible to trigger the samples when the corresponding note number is received (i.e. played on a keyboard) ?

- is it possible to interact with the effect parameters (maybe via q-link to midi cc mapping) using an external MIDI controller (faders/knobs) ?
