Reassigning midi notes on pads (time sensitive post!)

I'm sorry to ask such a basic question that I'm sure is in the manual, but I'm sitting here looking at a used mpc500 in a store and if it can do that, imma pick it up real quick.


Can you reassign the notes each pad sends out the midi in the back? Can the assignments be saved? I'd imagine its the same as just saving a blank template program like any other multi-progam'd mpc?

I had one of these a few years ago for a few weeks and I remember really liking it, but I thought you couldn't. But that also seems pretty standard Akai affair, so figured I'd ask.

The pad-MIDI note number assignments are set in the program.

If there is no program assigned to a track, then it uses a default pad-MIDI note number assignment, which you can also edit and save.
