MPC1000/JJOS2XL.

Continuing my education :hmmm: with this midi set up: (MPC master sequencer) + 2 synths.

MPC midi out A----------mophokey midi in
MPC midi in 1 --------- mophokey midi out

MPC midi out B ---------micron synth midi in
MPC midi in 2 ----------micron synth midi out

This set up is based on http://stereoroid.wordpress.com/music/m ... -tutorial/

I have got some of the bugs straightened out (like channels settings), but there are still a few issues:

1 ----- mophokey asks me if it should transmit/receive with NRPN or CC. what would be best with the MPC ?

2----- once my tracks have been programmed and are playing, both MPC mixers (mode + pad 8 and mode + pad 4) aren't operating anymore: I cannot modify the sound level for each track: they are not adjustable anymore.
The only way I can set sound levels for each track is by setting the volume on the synths themselves. Is this normal or there is something I haven't figured out ??

thanks !

1. CC
2. do you mean operating mixers from knobs on your synths? of from MPC screen?
I suppose you can send command from your synth with a volume CC-7 (or maybe other on those synths). Can you progam your knobs? Do you use Multi mode on MPC? What do you have in MIDI settings on MPC at Soft Thru?

Thanks for the reply.

I mean operating from the MPC screen the MPC onboard pad mixer

and/or the onboard track mixer

with this set up, neither mixers will respond to adjustments of the tracks/pads sound level. I mean I can adjust the bar height for both mixers, but the sound level does NOt change ....
It seems really strange that I cannot adjust individual tracks/pads sound levels using the onboard mixers.

Do you mean multi mode for the synths or for the MPC ?
Also, midi settings at softhru= AS TRACK

Bugfix wrote:yeah, I dig, this on screen mixer is only for MPC sampler. For external MIDI, well you have to send/record CC7 on right channels from controller/ sunth. Can you freely assign CC to knobs on one of those synths? I meant Multi on MPC.

I see. So the MPC mixers cannot control midi level signals. I need to look into the midi section of my synths to see if I can assign CC7 msges (midi newbie here ....).

How does one set multimode on the MPC ? :hmmm:
