Midi messages format for MPC1000/JJOS2XL

I am wondering if I should set my synths to send/receive messages to the MPC1000/JJOS2XL (as master sequencer) in CC mode or NRPN mode.

It seems I have read that that the Akai OS handles only CC messages. Is it the same with JJO2SXL ??

NRPNs are actually just successive CC messages, so the Akai OS should record and play them back from the MPC sequencer, as with any other CC messages.

Thanks, so in my case with JJO2XL I assume NRPN are processed ok ?
Is there any advantage or potential issue using CC versus NRPN ?

They 'should' be, but someone with actual JJOS experience with them will have to confirm.

NRPNs allow control of parameters which are not defined in the basic MIDI specifications, allowing control over more parameters than CCs allow, and/or with greater resolution per parameter.
