I'm usually into all types of music my man... but these two tracks just sound really weird... It's like there's no pattern at all. I wouldn't really call this hip hop neither. You're using common hip hop instruments, but they aren't really in a "hip hop" form. The sample on the first one sounded pretty cool though. If you're trying to create your own music style, just keep doing what you're doing man, someone will eventually notice it. But if you're trying to mix multiple styles together, I think it needs to follow a common hip hop basis, because hip hop was originated from all types of music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s (imo) so it sounds natural to everyone's ear, in my opinion anyway. Then after you do that, add other elements to it like electronic kicks mixed with hip hop snares or something.
You are much older than me and probably have been making music longer than me haha, but that's just what I think man. If you want some examples on mixng different music styles together, check out Rukunetsu on soundcloud. He, in my opinion, is the GOD of mixing different music styles lol. Anyways, keep on grinding man, and make sure to keep making music. And remember everybody has their own opinions in music. Good luck bro
