So I want to use all six minutes

I dont use a compumter
I just make it all on the Mpc


File transfer is not my problem
Just being able to return to my beats without it all being curutped and gone.



There was a method when some cat took the sci, to a ide, posted it under the casing then usesed the 5 volt to power the cf
That looked dope.

All the external jaz drives I've seen are HD50 connectors. Can you use them with just a HD50-DB25 cable?

The best place for a Zip or Jaz drive is the bin.

This enclosure I' bought looks pretty cool
£25 all together with postage and the scsi cable

Ive got loads of hardrives, maybye one will work.

But it's a nice base to work from
Got the scsi & power cable already fixed in and a box, so that's a start.



I don't mind buying small bits and making it propper.
So it's all good.

All storage devices will fail at some stage, make sure you have some sort of backup, if you don't want to lose it when it does fail.

how long are your samples? are you purging unused samples and trimming unused parts? I've never gone over 4 disks on a song.

Yeah i've been recording samples with long delays and 16 bar bslines
Other than that I chop out the silence as close as possible.

But my floppy is not solid
It loads the operation system
and I've got it backed up on my computer, and I have a usb floppy drive

MAybe it's my particular atmosphere, but My disks corrupt in seconds.


My beat programs can fit on 2 disks
On my s3000 it's cool

So I think "make it better'

I think that USB Floppy drive emulator is a better option for MPC-2000 classic, than using SCSI hard drive, because it would be easy to transport data between PC and MPC, and you don't have to use external device (which is a big deal for me.)
One downside is that since you are stack with 1.44MB limit of floppy disks, you have to (virtually) swap disks when you are loading or saving larger than 1.44MB data.
But, still I'd think that it is much better option than using SCSI harddrive.

Since you can use any floppy drive for MPC-2000 classic (unlike MPC-60 or other old samplers) you don't have to use HxC Floppy Drive Emulator, which is much more expensive (but it looks great, and supports so many obscure old PCs, keyboard, and samplers.)

Does anyone know which model works for the MPC 2000 classic? There are quite a few of them out there. Just want to make sure I can purchase the correct one.

Which is the cheapest one I could find £12.99 including postage of ebay.
So I'll let you know if it works in my 2000.

I've read a few accounts of it being put in a mpc2000 ,mpc3000, a Amiga and some sort of industrial embroidery machinery so I'm thinking it probably will work, but I'll have to wait and see.

I never knew those were so cheap. I'm thinking about buying one just to see if I like it or not.

But will not really solve my mass storage problems.
