I had the rackmount Voyager for a good while and it really is one of the best synths I've ever heard. Can't make it sound harsh... The support from MOOG is also incredible.
It was especially easy to program what I wanted to hear and let me delve into the real stuff: composing rather than synthesis theory. Automating was a breeze with Live. It's relatively similar to the Phatty but way deeper. The way you're talking, it seems you won't use the extra features.
I had modular stuff and I think it is mostly great to brag to people that don't know better... (haha jk..kinda...well, they look great don't they?) It's always good to gain more knowledge... as said, if you can't create what you want on what you have, a Voyager probably won't cure that.
A Midas 16 channel? Then a Voyager? Then "graduate" to compressors? Sounds like you just wanna get rid of that money real fast!
