so i'm thinking about getting the 8 outs for my 2000xl but i'm not sure how they would connect to a computer with a soundcard that has 2 RCA inputs? i know i gotta convert from 1/4 to RCA but how do i go about doing this?

(i'm writing this under the impression that each track/sample will go through its own out/in)

crap, what kinda mixer do you suggest i get? i want something just to use as a converter, nothing special, but that won't bring down the sound quality either.

i my self have this problem but I solved it purchasing a sound card that has 8 inputs and 8 outs, then using the pc as a mixer.
you could buy a small 12 in berhinger and connect the stereo out to the pc sound card but them pc sound cards are crap! and spoil the quality a hell of a lot.

my friend already has a decent sound card already with a mixing program in his comp. it comes with RCA inputs and i'm tryna figure out how i could hook up my 8 outs into it without dropping a lot of cash.

Ok, then you just need to buy some cables. RCA to Unbalanced 1/4" Male will do the job. If you need more than a few outputs you're better off buying a "snake". That's a whole bunch of cables made into one big cable.

wouldn't i need each output from the mpc to go into its own input on the soundcard then? it only has 2 inputs (left and right)

Oh right.....I figured by a decent soundcard you meant he had 8 inputs.
Well in that case you just need to get a single pair of 1/4" to rca. But you'l need to mess with sycing the mpc up with the computer through midi, and record the tracks one by one. This takes a long time, and there's not much point in buying the 8-out at this point in my opinion cause you might as well solo tracks if you're going to record them one by one.
Get the 8-out when you have either a mixer or a soundcard with 8 or more inputs.
