I'm looking for some advice on the loop edit mode for use within the context of a live set.

My set will be loop based so I would be using loop edit mode to edit drum/midi loops for external synths live as you would with a traditional step sequencer.

my main questions are:

1) Can loop edit mode be used for midi tracks?

2) Can you switch between different pads without stopping playback?

3) Can you mute pads within loop edit mode without stopping playback?

I'm currently using JJOS2 and have been playing around. Unfortunately the manual isn't particularly clear on certain aspects. For instance, i've noticed whenever I press F6 to close the box the loop stops and restarts. Is there a way to do this whilst maintaining continuous playback?

this is for os2xl but it's same I think

1) Can loop edit mode be used for midi tracks?
Yes, but you tracks have to be set as drum to enable loop edit mode

2) Can you switch between different pads without stopping playback?
yep

3) Can you mute pads within loop edit mode without stopping playback?
not individual pads

Thanks,

Another question, how do you get off the multi select buttons at the bottom? I can't figure out how to get back to editing a single note.

Another question on this, when I input midi notes whilst playing, it doesn't play the notes before I stop and restart (it says waiting for midi play at the bottom). Is there a way around this?
