Hi,
as seen from other users, i`m starting my own thread for my questions, i hope this is ok.
First about me and my gear :
I`m from Austria,normaly speaking german and my english isn`t the best, so i will maybe explain some things a bit difficult or use wrong words or phrases....sorry for that for now and the future
I`m using the MPC Studio with 1.6 on Macbook Pro and MiniMac (Mountain Lion or Mavericks, i`m not shure).
When i`m working with a daw, i use ableton live intro or cubase artist 6,5 ..... depending on what i want to do.
First Question here is about chopping and trimming a recordet sample:
When i`ve recordet a sample i can set start, by using my ears and the qlinks.....that is clear for me.
But which ways are there to set the end marker? In many cases i just want (for example) a sample trimmed to 1Bar.
For this, i see 2 ways:
1)Setting the end point by listening the sample while tweaking the qlinks.
2)When i know the Sampling Rate and the bpm, i should be able to get the exact point with mathematics (not really want to do that)
Is there the possibility, to trim a sample @ bpm?
Like: Set start marker with qlink on first beat, then do "something" to cut the sample exactly at 1 bar.
Or record samples not with end-time, but with end "beat-position"...means start recording with threshold or button and record exactly 1bar
Further , i want to know the difference between chop@region and chop@bpm?
When i remember right, the chop@bpm doesnt really care about the bpm, it just chopping the sample in (for example) 16 slices with the same lenght....same as @region does, i think .
There are more questions, but i have to try some things for my own before i post them here.
