does anyone know what i need to record and scratch my vinyl samples into the mpc software? i know the ren has its own inputs for turntables but there isnt anything like that for the studio... i was thinking i may need a usb mixer but i dont want to buy anything before knowing what will work best, i also already have a technics direct drive turntable that im pretty sure will work to scratch on

You need an audio interface for your computer, to take the signal fro the turntable and send it into the computer and MPC Software.

That could be an external audio interface, or soundcard built-in to the computer already, or some sort of USB DJ mixer, or anything similar.

You need something with phono inputs, to convert the phone output of the turntanble into a line level signal for the audio interface, that could be a DJ mixer, an audio interface with phone inputs, a hifi integrated amplifier, or a USB DJ mixer, for example. Unless your particular turntable has a line level output, then you don't need a phono level input.

word thanks for clearing that up, then if i want to record me scratching would i just hit sample record and record me scratching?
