They weren't anticipating people wanting it to be more DAW like. And that's what created the need for so much catching up to be done as compared to other DAW's.

You also have to remember that many of the DAW-ish features are actually trying to accommodate missing features that the 4k, 2500 and 5k had.
They tend to have a more DAW like appearance because of the computer view the software provides.

Akai really has a big task they are trying to accomplish in the fact of keeping the MPC intact while expanding it.
They could easily pump up the features but that could also cause us to end up with another Maschine.
Great product but even with v2 Maschine has a much different workflow than any MPC.

They can make as many changes as they like just don't stop the MPC software from having a fluid, intuitive workflow.

So get over it an grow up!

when you guys respond so ignorantly, you make yourself look bad. this is a valid rant. hellfire responded like an adult. fanu's response, was along the way i felt too. but what the guys says is valid. and when you respond with attacks your admitting to feeling insecure about your purchase. or what class you might fall in under his rant. let the man talk. and bid him farewell. we have bigger problems.

like a multicore option that is destroying the stability of the software.

I don't think I responded ignorantly. I think his rant is valid for the most part, but about the feeling that they should treat you as a mother.

Dude are you really that clueless?
You have been here since 2007 and don't recognize obvious trolls?

im not trying to beef with y'all. and i do see the troll point. for sure. but honestly i felt he was just ranting towards akai. {which he is untitled to, probably better posted on their Facebook instead of here}. i didn't feel insulted by his frustration. id like to see an akai response rather then us beating him over head with gifs. if we respond he just directs his rant at us...

"peace sign" as i back out of this. not trying to sidetrack thread.

Well you have to understand the reason we are getting the results from Akai that we currently are is because they are willing to listen.
A troll only affects that negatively.

When people get banned and come back with a new ID but are still spouting the same nonsense that was a problem no one benefits.

No one is saying that Akai is perfect, nor that they can't benefit from criticism but we are talking about someone with a personal agenda.

That helps no one.

What's up everybody,

You'll have to excuse me if I'm a little late to the party.
I haven't even read through all of the release notes, posts and threads, but I was wondering....
before I install 1.7 Would someone mind telling me, did they really make an update to automation for VST's and plugins? Will it record automation if you adjust the filter and knobs and such.

this was always something I really wanted so I wouldn't have to record line out realtime into another surface, while fading/tuning my plug ins.

sorry if I'm lazy for not reading everything b4 asking - at work, kinda busy.

any heads up would be much appreciated!

thxthxthx!

It was/still is even missing basic MPC features and workflow that go right back to the 60/3000.

HUGE. that's how the release notes read, but I wasn't sure if that was really legit.

Seems like that's gonna open up a lotta doors.

You like the new update overall?

Also, if I'm reading this thread right - projects made in 1.6 or earlier may not work 100% (depending on all the plug ins and such) in 1.7?

thxthxthx!

I noticed too that loop playback does not have one shot or a latch option.
You have to load hybrid to get to see the patches

Mine shows fine in the Sidebar, Patch List menu and Hardware.
