I am using logic 10.0.7 with OSX 10.9.4, I am trying to use the Ren exclusively as a sound card only.

1st problem - in Logic I have chosen MPC Renaissance (core audio) as my audio driver. Everything works absolutely flawless until I get about halfway through a project. Then I start getting a terrible crackling/distortion/clipping sound out of my speakers.

2nd Problem - I then switch to MPC Renaissance (Bit Accurate) as my audio driver and the crackling/distortion/clipping goes away but then I get terrible latency. I have a MacBook pro that should be able to handle this with no problem.

I have tried reinstalling drivers, using different USB ports, trying every damn latency setting I could and nothing is fixing this. I also have a Traktor S4 that I will use exclusively as my sound card and I never have any issue. Does anyone know why this would be happening?

1st problem - possibly due to the Renaissance USB2 interface/drivers having problems with the USB3 interface on your Mac's USB ports. Not sure there is anything you can do about that.

2nd problem, can you reduce the audio buffer size to reduce the latency?

I reduce the buffer as low as I can, still latency is not workable, although it does get slightly better.

that used to happen to me when i would run 2 different audio interfaces.

there's also the 10.9 beta driver --- http://www.akaipro.com/product/mpcrenaissance#downloads -- im using that as well (seemed to get rid of this problem)

Yes, I have also tried closing Logic as soon as the crackling starts, then I open iTunes (leaving the Ren as the sound card) and everything is back to normal. No problems at all, I then go back to Logic and the crackling is gone for about 5 minutes, then it starts again. Only in Logic.

Not running 2 different audio interfaces. Traktor is not even plugged in.

Had the beta driver the day it came out, tried reinstalling a few times, still same problem.
