First and foremost, this is not an Akai software bashing thread. Rewriting the mixer structure was a massive undertaking and along with all of the other features added in 1.7, I understand that some things just didn't make the cut. Now, from my standpoint, and IMO, before the software becomes more DAW-like, which a lot of requests seem to point the software in that direction, I would still like to see several legacy MPC features included in the software. Maybe we can get this stickied so that the fellas at Akai can see this for quick reference. Please add your own to this list and make sure before you post that a legacy MPC has the feature.

-Track Rearrange (all MPCs?)
-The ability to change the midi note value assigned to a pad (all MPCs?)
-The ability to name and assign an external instrument to the midi output ports (MPC60/3000/All MPCs?)
-The ability to lock the start and end points of a user created region in sample trim and move the start/end points simultaneously (MPC 4000)
-The ability to change the start/end field in sample chop/trim to see other values i.e. time, beats, etc. (MPC 4000)
-The ability to select the sample to edit in sample trim/chop by hitting the pad (only works in main mode right now) (all MPCs?)
-Sample crossfade (MPC 4000)
-Audio tracks (MPC 5000)
-Master/Sequence tempo setting (all MPCs)
-4 MIDI outputs [currently either 1 or 0 into DAW at the moment in pliugin mode, depending on DAW, needs to be 4 simultaneous into either DAW or external] (all MPCs that have 4 MIDI outputs)
-The ability to add new chops to an existing program from sample edit (MPC 4000)

You should state which MPC said feature comes from since there are lots of different MPCs and they have variations in features.

It would help to clarify what you are asking for application wise.

Also not sure anything JJ only would/should qualify since he really bent the MPC feature set.

I'm trying to stay away from JJ added features but 9 times out of 10, those features were in the 4000.

On a mac this can easiliy done by using the MIDI window in Audio MIDI Setup: Create your external instruments as a device and patch them. That'll work for all Mac DAWs etc this way.

Two different things. I would never use them but a lot of people that had the 5K miss them so I threw them in there to be fair to everyone.

It's not a Mac only product  so it still is missing from previous MPCs.
