Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

This method works.

You have to be sure that you are muting from the TRACK MIXER and mixing and NOT muting from the PROG MIXER. There are two different mixers at work here. The TRACK MIXER is per sequence the PROG MIXER is universal. The TRACK MIXER shows levels in blue. The PROG MIXER shows levels in green/yellow/red.

Well, depending on your style of workflow, it will be the best thing ever, or stop you dead in your tracks with no option to do anything about it.

The Program Mixer won't show any levels, never did, and it still won't now. I do all my mixing and effects on the Track Mixer page, with or with out the blue MIDI tracks showing. I have 21 tracks on my current project. That is the only sequence I have now. I mute the tracks I don't want to play because its going to be the beginning of the song. When I copy this sequence via the 5th option Copy a Sequence, it copys just fine. When I mute or unmute the tracks in the new copied sequence, it does it for all the other sequences too. Why not make it an option to turn this feature off? Again, I see that there are a few ways to craft a track on the Ren, but this way has worked perfect for me for many years until now with 1.7.

If you are having a problem with the PROG MIXER showing levels, then you are having serious problems with your software. It should look like this. TRACK MIXER is in BLUE. PROG MIXER is in GREEN.

In this picture I have the TRACK MIXER highlighted and all my filters are highlighted in ORANGE. Try to reproduce the exact same screen.

That is the Track Mixer page, not the Program Mixer page right? Mine looks the same way. I don't have any problems on the Track Mixer page. I have 21 tracks all mixed and effects added, ready to sequence out. My Program Mixer page shows a million channel strips with the pads on the bottom. None of them show any levels on the Program Mixer page. They never have in other versions of the software either.

You have to mess with your view filters. Look at the blocks that are highlighted in ORANGE on the left of my screenshot and reproduce that.

It's 1.7. I have all the new lovely features, and all new problems with the workflow I've used for years.

I don't have any other issues other then when I copy a sequence using the option 5 Copy a Sequence, and attempt to mute or unmute tracks, all the other sequences are effected. Everything else works perfectly. In the past few years, this is how I craft a track. I have 21 tracks on my Track Mixer page, all mixed with perfect levels and effects added to some of the tracks. I mute the ones I don't want for the first sequence. I copy that sequence and now we have sequence 2. When I unmute a few more tracks to make sequence 2, it unmutes them on sequence 1 as well. How do I trim this feature off, or get rid of it? This has been my workflow for years, and has worked perfectly for me.

Homie, you've said this a million times. If you followed the steps that myself and other heads are outlining on here you'd be done with this. If you aren't trolling then you might need to find a new hobby or software to make music with.

I have tried all the steps with no luck. thus my frustration. I'm happy for the help, but having zero luck.

Here is my current screen. What do I need to do differently now?

MUTE and only MUTE with the left side/blue side/MIDI side. MIX (effects/inserts/etc.) and DO NOT MUTE on the right side. The LEFT is the TRACK MIXER. The RIGHT is the PROG MIXER.

I see MUTES on the RIGHT SIDE. GET RID OF THEM.
