MAC Mini with Mavericks OS 10.9

Anyone here using a MAC Mini (late 2012) with the MPC Software?

Tell me if its a good idea

or

if the MAC Mini doesn't doesn't belong in this fight.


I'm currently running on windows platform for everything except my ipad apps and see a windows to get a cheap mac just for the MPC REN and other midi controller type of apps.

I do have a Mac Mini (late 2012) but it's used as a media server in the living room.


Thou, technically it shouldn't be a problem, as long as the specs are up to par. I have seen people on YouTube using the Mac Mini for music production.


I advice a i5 at minimum.

I'm on a Mac Mini i7 with 16GB and SSD drive running Mavericks, no problems running the MPC Software with various plugins.

'If' it has USB3 ports, the Renaissance 'might' have the same problems that others are experiencing with the Renaissance audio interface and USB3 ports.

Hahaha. Yeah. I'm trying to win one on ebay for cheap. I might have to shell out for a new one. lol. It aint easy winning a MAC Mini on ebay.

I gave up on Ebay as the second hand prices were matching, and sometimes exceeding the 'brand new with 12 month warranty' prices on Amazon UK.

Some people claim some Amazon sellers are offering grey imports (although I believe Apple warranties are worldwide so it shouldn't matter), however the unit I received was a full UK model with UK plug etc.

I just bookmarked the Amazon search page for 'mac mini i7' and just kept checking until the price was right. Pricing often changes several times a day on these things. Same with the memory.
