sup yall
just wondering if you guys had any tips on keeping your drum samples handy. its kinda tough being organized with zip disks, im on a mpc 3k, and i made up a zip disk i was gonna just put drum programs on, but it just ends up being bits of songs everywhere and just a mess

i feel that it slows down my production because so much of my time is sampling new drums all the time

take a week off and sample all your drums, arrange into kits and one shots...keep an mpc convention so you can switch kits over the same beat very quickly...sample organisation is a long and frustrating process if you have lots of samples but is well worth doing as it makes the composition process that much more intuitive...its a nessescary evil i often do when i want to get some production stuff done but arent feeling particularly musical or inspried that week...

I agree!!! Take the time, get your sample library on just maybe one zip disk and you should be good to go!!! Better than fumbling through your issshh while youre trying to lay something down...
