I admit that i buy most of my records at the record store (one that isn't terribly overpriced and the guy knows his stuff). I'm not worthy of this thread...
I did a little digging in the beginning but couldn't stand living between thousands of records (had about 3500 at the "worst" point all in the living room). I've now reduced my collection to maybe 500-600 records and there's not much digging to be done since i've thrown out 95% of all the mediocre and garbage ones. I never buy bulks of records anymore, i just buy single ones i really want, rarely go to thrift shops and such locations... there's a big record fare at the end of this month i'm planning to visit however.
My most recent "dig" (purchase) is from discogs because i couldn't find it anywhere locally:
2nd most expensive records in my collection! ...actually, if i count in the shipping costs, they are the most expensive.
It's by far my most favorite album i've ever heard, since many years.
Had to get both versions. The original release has many tracks that are faster / higher pitch compared to the later released "official" version. Also, Side B is listed two times on the back of the cover in the original version, and on Side B, instead of The Life I Live and KrossRoads, they listed Fakin Jax and What You Say (also seen under Side B, which should be named Side C). The official release also has a different longer intro, plus two more tracks (Don't You Love It + Microphonist Wanderlust).
Think i'll take the original release into the grave with me for future generations to find and discover, it looks appropriate for that... ancient musical message discs from the past... lol.
