I see that this has hit some PC users too: http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=174498

I applied the 1.7 update & house & trap pack installers one after another & now my Factory packs are gone. This was on Mac osx 10.7.5- I'm not sure about which of these actually deleted the Factory Content folders.

To get them back - insert the orig. mpc installer DVD & command-click the installer. Select 'show package contents', which opens another folder.
In the folder that's revealed, navigate to contents->resources & simply double-click the 'InstallContent.pkg' installer located there.

It will restore the factory content to the your hard drive:

/Library/Application Support/Akai/MPC/Content:

MPC Drum Content &
MPC Loop Library

& some catalogue files get written in nearby places.

it was your post that let me figure what had happened :)

Yeah it's def the trap/house expansions not the 1.7 update. On the mac It's way faster to copy the whole mpc installer to a hd & do the steps from there - my DVD drive is suspicious slow.
