Ok say you have closed hat on track 3 and an open hat on track say....7 and the mute group number is lets just say..5 play the tracks in the mpc software hats are opening and closing like they should....ok EXPORT tracks to another DAW hats play open......solve this one (elaboration:closed hat still plays as recorded open hat plays open)

The problem is the way the Explode Track works due to the new mixer. Prior to 1.7, audio ran through the track. So all tracks could be exported simultaneously into separate files. Now because audio is on the program, you have multiple tracks triggering audio out of the same program at the same time. Therefore, in order to export track stems with this architecture, each track has to be soloed when it is exported to keep it's audio separate from another tracks audio.

So when I have two pads in the same mute group sequenced on separate tracks, they will not mute each other during the export because they are being soloed during export, which prevents them from muting each other.

So one thing I can suggest until the developers figure something out with this (if they even can) is this:

1. just use a dummy pad on your open hat track and copy the notes from your real closed hat pad to it.

2. turn the volume of that dummy pad all the way down and set it to the same mute group as the open hat.

3. Remove the original hat pad from the mute group so it doesn't conflict with the dummy hat pad.

Although this is an inconvenient workaround, these steps will get you your desired effect when exporting tracks.

ok thats cool but i also have yet another work around I'll tell you in a sec,to answer pspsounds and jenre i use export explode tracks and yes the open hat is on a separate track and the closed is on a separate track now my work around,Since I'm working with reason 7.1 and all my other audio tracks are fine (bassdrum,snare,etc..)I figured I'd just export the midi files for the hats and place them within a kong drum and route the hats to two separate tracks within reason (no pun intended)that way not only do i get the desired effect i also have the option to try different hat sounds.but when it comes to more elaborate samples muting each other out that is where exporting the stems will be a problem and will have to use your method, which is cool and should still be posted here so thanx and i never would have thought of that...so props :worthy:

So am I right in thinking that recording both closed and open hats to the same track will not result in this problem?
