jahrome? i been hur since the way back.

a test? im not sure what a test as you defined it would prove... but i think youre missing my point. you made music you dont like? nobodys fault but the musician lol

hey do i know you from somewhere else? are you trolling me? settling a score or something silly like that? sweet! i like to play with trolls. im not here to disrespect you, but bickering over nothing is my forte. so be careful what you start, i can get pretty ridiculous if you push hahaha

I'm not trolling you, i just don't like know-it-all people like you who can't comprehend a simple statement (about SP swing). Go on, you don't know me either. You're not the first person who thought they are smarter than me (some are, many actually, but you seem not to be one of them).

If you've never made music you don't like you haven't made music.

You're an idiot. Please continue (and let's do the test chicken shit).

What are some of your general thoughts on the SP1200, it's features and pros & cons?
I loved the swing about it.

Now let's do the test chicken.

everything is relative. im not saying im smarter than anybody. thats your perception. i know, its hard to deduce tone when you are reading text on the net so you use your own self image to infer tone and if youre a bitter person, thats the reflection you get when you read others writings. im not starting a fight im only asking please stop worshiping the gear and get on to trying to come up with something that has a strong SPIRIT, which to me is what counts! i, as a listener, want to listen to brilliant musical ideas, not features of a set of gear. i think the mere fact that some machines are put on a pedestle by musicians means their music is likely going to be about showcasing the gear rather than displaying a massive musical idea. we all got into this because of what we heard others do. i think their focus was on trying to make a hit more than what they were using. did they sit in forums debating over the merits of this or that sampling technique or did they just get down to the business of expressing their musical ideas first and foremost? hey you can be the guy who makes your chosen odd bit of gear famous among all the fanboys by expressing a massive musical idea through it!

where is your muse? is your gear your muse?

Dude, are you retarded?

You said the SP1200 doesn't have a unique swing. I challenged you to make the same drum pattern with same samples on an MPC while i do it on the SP, then let people choose which is the famous "SP swing" in a blind test (no worries, the samples are recorded from the SP1200, so sound will be identical).

What do you think it should proove? Do you need further assistance in solving this mystery question?

The last email from an MC from Washington DC:

Homie, imma hit the studio tomorrow...

Here's two tracks from him with beats produced by another producer (because you think my music sounds silly):

Dude is crazy about my beats. I guess not everybody agrees with you that my music sounds silly. The last beat he used from me was done with the MPC500 and ASR, i couldn't care less if i did it on the SP1200. What remains however is the fact that the SP1200 has a unique swing.

The argument was simple. You said the SP swing is a myth, i said it's not and challenged you to a blind test. You went on to call me and my music silly, etc. I rest my case, you are an idiot. Wanna do the test now chicken?

no bro i said a claim that it was superior in some way was absurd. you have yet to quantify 'superior'

no need to throw names  this is a debate over the definition of superior and my friend its all relative when theres a strong spirit. maybe that doesnt make sense to someone who samples someone elses music and never makes their own riffs and such... if you attempt to recreate something you heard by buying the same gear and such itll never happen. itll always be weaker than the original.

my point is that none of the heroes of the old gear were aiming to recreate someone elses sound, they were attempting to pioneer new territory? i assume thats more or less accross the board. so thats what you should probably do: attempt to do something that we havent heard already. instead of worship a piece of gear that is.

Here's a little tip for you:

If you don't like people calling you names (i don't feel good about calling you an idiot), then maybe try to not come off like you did in your first answer to my first post. The debate was about SP swing and if it's a myth, you even went to the lenght to make a stupid meme picture about it... Then you went off to call me and my music stupid, went further and labeled me a gear fetishist, to get a life, you bring in absurd things like me looking for a whipping post (wtf dude), and so on!

If you don't want to be called names, learn to have a less arrogant and prejudice attitude. Who the **** are you to know me, so again, get off your high horse.

And to further prove my point how prejudice and uninformed you are:

I have made a lot of music consisting of my own real time played instruments (guitar, bass piano, ukulele, etc). I still do original music without samples (besides drums) next to my sampled music. So again you just assumed you know me and proceeded to tell me about how i should make music and so on... sorry, you're a prejudice idiot, that's my response to that.

I never try to copy Hip Hop. I love Hip Hop, and i love drum machines and records, i don't try to make Hip Hop music, i make my own music (which can sometimes sound like your typical hip hop beat because that's a big influence of mine).

So now to get back on topic and to your nice meme picture:

THE QUESTION WAS: Does the SP1200 have a unique swing compared to other drum machines?

I rest my case sir...

Do you want the test now? I guess not... i will do it myself in another thread. I'll post various files from MPC500 and SP1200.

Peace.

PS: I'm not your "bro" dude, no offense...

Like i said:

Your responses so far pretty much prooved my point, thank you.

Yeah bro! Hahahahaha! Get a life! Kids these days! Hahahhahaha! LOL! (that's you, how old are you, twelve?).

As you can see, i'm still trying to figure out what's better in life, to respond to idiots like you, or simply walk away... still not sure, gonna try option 2 now. You're on my foe list idiot (first person on that list, congrats dude), have a good day.

PS: You preach about how people should get a life and make music instead of having arguments on the internet in music forums. Funny enough you are on an internet forum posting shit. On top of everything, you're a hypocrite too. Dear lord, people like you piss me off.

youre so bitter inside i can see it in everything you type. i feel sorry for you. your delusion will reach great heights before you see yourself and your surroundings for what they really are but theres no way to know this before you get there. its normal though, every smart ass kid goes through a stage where they think they are gods gift to the world before they get humility and then settle down. youre just going through puberty is all... im not mad at it. you gotta be a wee little thing before you mature. of course its your choice to mature or remain a snotty little kid. time will tell. good luck tho dude bro!
