Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi there !

I am using my MPC 2000 XL with Abelton Live 8. I am using Abelton as my sequencer, the MPC is in slave mode, receiving midi. Here's my Problem:
I want to assign the MPC to an individual midi channel, right now it receives midi from all channels, feels like it in midi omni mode.

Is there a way to assign to an individual midi channel ?

Thank you for your help.

MPC 2kxl pg52.

This is done on the main screen bottom of the screen.
You have 1-16a and 1-16b =32 channels of midi.
Those few pages and after will explain.

Move the cursor on the main screen to where it says MIDI or Drum, press the Open Window button, which opens the MIDI Input screen, change the Receive channel: from ALL to the MIDI channel that you want to use to control the MPC from Ableton.

If you want to control different MPC tracks from separate MIDI channels, rather than just one overall MIDI input channel...

Move the cursor on the main screen to where it says S:, on the left of where it says Drum or MIDI for the track type, and change the S: to M:, which puts it in Multiple Track Recording Mode.

When the cursor is on the M:, press Open Window button, which opens the Multi Recording Setup screen, which is where you assign a particular MIDI input channel for each MPC sequencer track.
