How do you select which outputs (from your audio interface)

On version 1.6 you could select it in the preference but I don't see it there any longer. I have a motu 828 interface and the my first two outputs are the "Main Outs" but I don't want to use them I want to use the next two outputs "Analog out 1-2" so how do I change the interface's outputs?

wish i knew...you cant just click on the lil speaker on the bottom right and choose it? thats how i do it..but im on windows.

Thanks but that won't really help me in this situation the little speaker icon at the bottom is just for windows system audio playback but I'm sure it has to be a way to do this. I'm using windows too.

In the "preference" when I select windows audio it gives me the ability to select the inputs and outputs but this is not the case with asio.

You too huh? I'm running MPC Software V1.7 on Mac OS X Lion with an Native Instruments Audio 8 interface. When I select the interface in Input under Audio preferences I get all 8 inputs to select i.e. 1&2, 3&4, 5&6, 7&8. When I select the interface in Output it just defaults to outputs 1&2. I'd like to use outputs 5&6 as these can be monitored using the Audio 8 headphone output, but there is no way to change this.

Any ideas anyone?

IT's weird.. You can do it, via the pgm routing...(I'm assuming all physical outputs are available inside the software routing) But not at driver level.. (the asio panel for the ploytech driver to choose outputs and inputs stays locked..)

On windows 8.1 ...

They've changed something in version 1.7 that no longer gives you this option, I don't know why they would do that. I called tech support and also sent them an email with a screenshot showing that this option was available in the previous version and he said that all he can do is send a feature request for the next update, which sucks.
The way I have it working now is to select the MPC Ren's audio driver and then connect audio cables from the Ren to my audio interface's inputs.

That sucks, particularly if your using MPC Studio which doesn't have built in audio hardware. Seems a damn stupid thing to change IMHO - reduces the versatility of the software!

They could solve this issue by allowing the master to have a physical routing. Probably more flexible too than going into the driver level and doing it.

I think all physical outputs are available for routing(if you have 32 outputs on your soundcard you could potentially use them all.... out to a mixing desk... )

Maybe we should start a thread to get support from everyone and have everyone send in a feature request so that Akai will take this issue seriously and correct it very quickly.
