On the 1.6 software I used to choose to export in song mode as separate tracks and it would export a separate audio file of all of my drum tracks(of course) so i can mix them in logic! I record all of my drums on its own track anyway! Track 1-kick, Track 2-Snare, etc, ect!!! On 1.7 I still do everything the same but now instead of separating the drums when I export! The software exports all my drums as one program track! Now I can't eq them separate in logic pro! I shouldn't have to explode them or anything if they are already on separate tracks right? They come from the same program but I record them on separate tracks!

Do you know if they are working on a way to implement the old way to export separate tracks?

This is my first time using the convert to seq and then exporting and it seems super slow. At least on a song I created previous to 1.7. It's going through the song for each track I have and exporting each track 1 a time. It's rather time consuming when you could previously export all tracks in one shot.

Edit:

It took over an hr+ to do it this way. I can't get jiggy with this shit! Lol

Nah for real tho they need to bring back the old way of exporting individual tracks.

For real it took that long. I'll have to test it tomorrow on a track I created with 1.7.

Not sure what all they did with getting 1.6 and below projects to work with 1.7 but I noticed it duplicates every program on every sequence that I had something on instead of what it originally used. This is a headache. Especially for exporting to mix in another software. When I didn't have these issues before. It was a smooth process.

This made certain things perform slower than normal. Exporting a sequence was slow, saving was slow. I tried to use it as a plugin in Pro Tools 10. Ran out of resources. It was using 80% when I know previously I was nowhere near 80%. All I did in Pro Tools was set one instrument track for the plugin and about 8-10 audio tracks to record. No plugins except for what was in used in the MPC software.

It baffles me that this feature was removed. Was it an oversight? Was it intentional? I can't imagine that NONE of the testers use this feature and would have pointed it out to Akai. But maybe the feature isn't as popular as I think it would be.

Hoping 1.7.1 gets it back in. Having to convert to one sequence is functional, but not cool.

If you are ready to bounche your audio and you are going to mix it inside DAW, why not directly tracking inside the DAW?

check..

in my opinion it´s always better to track inside the DAW for the opportunity to doublecheck your input level. but that´s only my 2 cents. But maybe you will love this workflow too if you gave it a try...

I´m a Studio One User and use that fantastic midi transform feature. With this s1 feature it´s even no problem to export the pads seperately with 2 clicks even when they are in the same Track. All my drums are always in 1 track thats the way i did it since my first mpc. never had any issue to get them tracked into my DAW seperately but that wasn´t the questions so anyway...

1st. i don´t get that question dude...
or 2nd. you don´t get my explanation above right / you didn´t read it proper
3rd... you´re getting offtopic, like 90% of the time

this thread is about exporting/bounche audio out of mpc software respectively how to import it the best way in your DAW.

So you can try to use your brain to meditate about your question "why is it better to mix in daw?" or start a thread with your question here -> viewforum.php?f=35 (looking forward to this)

peace

This is cool if your track has less than 16 stereo tracks. I have 25. No way to bring all the channels into the DAW. Something would have to be doubled up... can't do a proper mix that way.

His example is cool - just can't have more than 16 stereo tracks.

One of the reasons I always say that we need at least 32 stereo tracks in plugin mode.

I use the explode function to stem out my tracks in 1.7. It does take longer but i noticed that before, there were "blank tracks " stemmed out of vst programs that i was not using. Now in 1.7 ,any programs ( vst, or synth prgms) that i am not using are not created. Just the tracks in your sequence. I found that is about the only plus in 1.7 export function.
