1.7 and Protools Issue..

since i upgraded to 1.7 on my mac.. i cant open protools (express) anymore. the interface is the ren, so all i ever had to do was turn the ren on, with the ilok plugged in, protools would open.

now protools cant 'locate hardware' ("unable to locate hardware. make sure your hardware is connected and turned on. click ok when the hardware is ready.")

basically ive tried everything i can think of but it seems that 1.7 caused this issue to happen. cant even select options in protools for hardware etc because it has to be open.

not sure wth to do!

anyone else having this issue?

You on Mac or PC ? Cuz on Mac I had to set the playback engine and then set I/o to default and then it worked with protools. Just a shot in the dark

mac..but i cant do anything in protools unless its open.. which is the only problem! so icant set the playback engine etc.. i'll probably just have to phone avid to take over my computer and do god knows what to get it working. blah

When starting PT, try holding down N during the splash screen and try selecting a playback engine. If that doesnt work try holding down Alt.

^thx but i dno if its because its a mac, or protools express, neither the N key or alt work when opening pt. blah
