I just downloaded the updated 1.7 version but bought it a coupla months back (1.5) and it's the truth. Before the Ren, I hadn't used an MPC since '02 and was rusty as all HELL. Trial and error and that dry ass included manual only got me so far. Tutor's book helped take my understanding of the Ren, its software and to some extent my production capabilities, to the next level. Money well spent fa sho fam.

to get back on topic use hybrid3 for creating drums and then resample and create a kit out this of resampled drums...


I looked in to the Hyrbid VST after your comment to the OP. It seems good at creating a lot of instruments, but for some reason I'm struggling with the drums with the Mod Matrix. I could create the tonal structure, but not a suitable attack. Time to read the manual. These drums tones are too dope to go to waste..gotta figure it out.


As for the OP..he may be better off using his DAW's tone generator and set up a gate to let his Kick drum trigger the tone for now. It doesn't seem like he has the patience to learn drum sound design...I might be wrong though.


Made my first Hybrid3 808 Kick drum. It's on, now!! The Ren with this Hybrid VST synth is incredible.

i got mic plugged in...and left and right selected on the recording part of sample record..but everytime i play it back..only the right one comes out..if i connect mic to the left only left comes out..it wasnt doing this in 1.6

any ideas of how i can fix this?

i found out if i put "sum" on the stereo>mono option in sample edit it plays on both sides...

so temporary fix for this.

also if i unclick left side arm on record when i play it back i can hear it on both...

so.. i guess i dont understand to well how should be recording something? or if it matters

also..where it says to change it to audio 4 in and out..that options doesnt come out in mine.

im pretty sure i have the drivers installed...

i havent put in the first cd yet because that would downgrade what i already have if im not mistaken ;/

and i canot find mpc.dll anywhere to use it as a plugin inside of ableton..**** im getting pisseeeeeeeeeeeed!

ok

found it..

it was in steinberg vst folder.

now im using ableton to scan in that folder and it does not pop up...

****.i want to stab my mpc so bad riht now!

to use abletons as a "slave" in mpc..

although i dont exactly know what that means...using context clues..im assuming it means that ableton will do what i say within the mpc ren.

so my question is..

how do i open up ableton 9 live suite in mpc? it has a lot o sounds that id like to use.

im assuming it has a ableton.dll somewhere?

anyways..

someone halp me plz.

You don't, Ableton does not run as a plugin.

Hopefully Akai will implement Rewire in MPC Software at some stage, so that you can easily route audio from Ableton into MPC Software.

There are probably Rewire type plugins, or other internal audio routing utilities, that would allow that to happen until then.

o my muther **** of god! god damn it..

i can not get ableton 9 live suite to detect mpc as a plugin!!!!!!!!!!! so i cant open it up in abelten...god **** damn it..

im pissed now.

i guess ill just have to do it ghetto style for now

Does the bit version of the MPC plugin match the bit mode that Live is running as?
