Syncing 4 bar sample for 8 bars

I have a 4 bar sample but my sequence is set to 8 bars to allow a more elaborate drum pattern. At the end of the fourth bar when I hit the pad to play the sample again for the remaining 4 bars, sometimes my timing is off. Is there a way to correct the timing of the sample so that if I am off at the beginning of bar 5 that it will still quantize it? Is there a better way to do it? I have a 1000 by the way.

Does the loop start exactly on the downbeat of the first bar ie.. 01.01.01?

While on the track with the loop, set the timing at 1/8 and while recording
retrigger (hit the loop pad again) at 05.01.01.

Yeah, my loops do generally start at 1:1:1. Thanks, I'll try adjusting the timing to 1/8. So the MPC can adjust the timing on triggered samples?

Yep, using T/C, it quantizes the MIDI events.
If you know the exact time (like 05:01:01) you want the samples at, you can also use Step Edit and Insert the Note events manually.

Sometimes it's easier just to retrigger than to get the loop rolling along perfectly. Depending on how you wanna produce you can do either or both.
