poly problem

I called tech support and still no help, the problem is that if i play a sample one bar long and try to record the same sample over it or a different sample over it or during it, the first one cuts out. i tried everything, including changing the poly and mute groups in the program page but nothing seems to work. tech support coudn't help also. so if anybody can please do. -Thanks

Are you using OVER DUB when you record?

I have tried things out here and I am not getting that problem. The only thing I can think of at the moment is that maybe you some how switched programs. I am going to bed now. I've got a lot to do tommorow.

Of course you are recording midi not audio so if you record the same midi note on top of the previous it will erase it unless you press merge notes or something like that. Someone more knowledgeable with explain more, but just record the midi note on the next track or use the second part out and play together. But it may cause phasing in your sequence.
