MPC studio & MIDI keyboard

Is it possible to hook up a MIDI/usb(akai mpk25) keyboard to a MPC studio? If it is, can somebody please tell me how!?

You don't connect it to the MPC Studio, you connect it to your computer, and use it as a MIDI input to MPC Software.

If you PC can see it, the MPC software can use it...

Connect keyboard to PC's usb port. Got to EDIT>Preferences>Midi and place check next to keyboard.

Nevertheless, if it has a MIDI output you could try connecting that to your Studio's MIDI input...

Good call, I was thinking of a USB connection.

If you want to connect the MIDI output of the MPK to the MIDI input of the MPC Studio, you will probably have to power the MPK via an external power supply, and not via a USB connection.

IMPORTANT

The operation of the MIDI OUT port changes depending on whether or not a USB cable is connected to the MPK25.

• USB cable connected:
MIDI data from your computer is passed to the MIDI OUT port. When a USB cable is connected, you should activate "MIDI echo" in your sequencer if you want the MPK25 to control another external device.

• USB cable not connected:
Whatever you play on the MPK25 is sent to the MIDI OUT port.
Note: If you have another device connected to the MPK25's MIDI IN port, that device's MIDI information will be ignored.
