Blank screen when loading samples

When I put a memory card into my 1000 the screen goes blank and makes a
weird sound. I'm not good with the technical side of these machines so I don't think
I can explain it better but I really need help. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Sounds like there's a bent pin in the CF card reader. Have you checked inside?
