no such thing as small dear sir.

like i said..its all the small things that make the big thing better.

and little shit like that can really frustrate the shit out of people

It just doesn't seem like a good spend of resources to me.

I understand your point of view but i still find it funny that you absolutely want the MPCR to catch up the 20 years old MPCs but you're not okay to add to the mpc software "features and functions that DAWs have been able to for years". Is the future about catching past ?

I'm talking about step by step addition. I don't think adding audio tracks, revamping the song mode and adding a mastering view would dilute the software nor the whole idea.
Look at ableton, it's a DAW but it's very different than Cubase or PT. It has its own envision and people even use it as an instrument in their liveset. Now if the MPC Software would evolve into a sort of Ableton (i mean both live and studio oriented), with its own legacy mpc workflow, wouldn't that be awesome ?

I know we're talking about major improvements here in a not-too-soon future but 1) hey, the thread is about 2.0, not 1.8 and 2) when you see what 1.7 is bringing to the table, it is realistic to think that some major features will be there for 2.0, and even before. Step by step, we'll get there, i hope.

1) Pad explode (as opposed to whole track)
2) Reverse loop
3) Better zoom in/out for midi note view; I think shift+<> is slow. Personally, I'd go for shift + jog wheel (I know this adjusts brightness at the moment, but that could well be in preferences)
4) Ability to switch separate plugins on/off (as opposed to all)
5) rearrange tracks

BONUS: a quick button for TC on/off

the only reason it wont be in the "not so soon future" is because from what ive been told. they only have a handful of guys working on the mpc team. imagine if they where like microsoft? we'd be on like mpc ver 10.1 ;p

also
dont know if this is a bug

but i canot load mpc in ableton live as a plugin..

i also need to figure out how to load ableton inside mpc ren

Plainly impossible. Neither does MPC SW support Rewire capabilities, nor can Live be loaded as a VST.

yea what simon said

pisses me of that i cant use ableton as plugin in mpc so i can use all its sounds and effects!

and i cant **** get mpc to come out as plugin in ableton

still trying to figure out if my mpc.dll is 32 or 64 bit version as simon was saying that might be why my ableton isnt picking it up when i scan for it

also what a noob in the noob forum was trying to do that i dont think you can do.

have the option to copy sequence and select what tracks and events you want to copy
that why i dont make a new sequence and set up bpm again and the tracks i want to use and bars and stuff.

sup pehpz.

i noticed on ableton liveski you can just drop a drum loop and lower/higher the bpm and presto.

how come we cant do that in mpc?

why do you we have to use patched phrase?

and pp mainly speeds up the beat.

sounds ugly as **** if you slow it down. i its like a complete track with all instruments sounds choppy as ****.

1. Realtime quantize on a per track/program/global basis, with full recall of the settings you've employed. This should also include a shift setting where you can nudge a selected range independently from the quantize down to the ppqn level. Basically taking the 4K realtime quantize 'preview' as a starting point and making it better.

2. A more powerful mod matrix with an additional LFO and routing possibilities. Anything that adds to the sound shaping abilities of samples is a good thing.

3. A full and proper vintage mode where classic samplers are modelled down to the component level. If a job's worth doing it's worth doing right.

4. Compatibility with S series sample libraries. This may or may not be in there already but it's a worthy addition. There's a vast amount of sounds out there that still sound killer today, so it'd be good if there was an option to use them painlessly.

5. More effects, filters and instruments baked into the OS. Hopefully these would include new additions and not just rehashed stuff from their sister company. Modelled classic filters would be a great starting point (Moog, MS20, Oberheim), and higher quality reverbs and delays are always good.

That'll do for now.

Mapping different scales to pads.

For example if you want to write a song using the Gypsy Scale. The user should have the ability to select "Gypsy Scale" in a drop down menu and then it'll map the scale to the pads..

So Pads 1-6 in bank C would be. C3, D3, D#3, F#3, G3, G#3.

If you could map all of the funk guitar and blue scales and other genres to pads. That'll be tight.

Preview program sounds when looking thru.. I hate having to delete these files & not know what suits a beat!

Track select by shift pad.. Quicker to get where I'm going..

Multiple plugins open at same time!! Saving effects chains for quick processing on other projects!!

Naming from the Ren!!!

Plugin compensation..

I cld keep going...
