MPC Renaissance mono/poly laying issues

Hey! So I've been working on this beat and I'm getting huge issues. The sample I'm using is comprised of many little sounds, so I have to hit the pads many times in order to make my own loops. That's okay and all, and I want that on the Mono mode so each pad cancels out the last sound, making a more choppy feel. However, I'm trying to add drums now on a separate track. I'm trying to play with the settings, but nothings worked. The original sample in track one keeps on cancelling out my drums or vice versa. I've been having issues and all I want to do is have one track or program with the sample on mono, and the drums on the poly setting. Can anybody help?

just make a new program and have the drum samples on that on a new track

You must have assigned them to the same mute groups. Disable them for the drums or simply use another mute group.

I put every sample on the mute group 1, while still on the Mono grouping. Also, on the right you can see it's on Poly for pad play. I tried this and putting it on Mono and still no luck!

Your sample is on the same program as your drums probably. If you've chopped the sample put the drums on a new program. What happens is on a sliced sample program is that the program automatically makes it a mute group by default so tat the slices cut off when you hit a different pad. Or u can turn the master mono-poly to poly and assign each pad to its own mute group.

Okay, so if I have my drums on the same program, how do I move them without having to do them again? Is there any way?

you dont have to delete them from the pads they are already on if you dont want too.

but if you do just click on "program edit" >"samples" click on the pad you want to remove, then use scroll wheel until there is no sample on it.

then just make a new program and id suggest using a new track as well for the drums.

ive had this same problem you talk about.

i am going to check it out and see ifs maybe a bug that they need to fix.

but for now just do as we say ;p

copy the pgm...
Use the copy for drums...

The original pgm for the sample chops....

Make sure they are on diff tracks...(sample on track 1 drums on track 2.. )

why would he copy when he can just make a brand new program?

which is ok if he plays it in a new track..it wont mute the ones with the chops..

i just like putting everything in seperate programs

If it is a separate program, it shouldn't interact with the other program.

He asked how to move them without having to do them all again, the easiest way to do that would probably be by copying the program.

yea akai needs to let us click +alt to keep selecting more files..like that we can just select what we want and drag to the program
