Creating multiple tracks?

do not click create events unless you want them to be in the order you chopped them in.

2. after you click on "do it"

go to the program section and the new program should be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

named after the sample you chopped up and that should be it. just double click it.

i do agree they need to fix that..

once you chop you should automatically go to chopped program unless you dont want too.

the reason its muting..the samples is..which we've said 1000 times is because you need to go to

"program edit" on the top right part of the mpc ren. under the recording nob. click that... set program to POLY which will let you play other samples at the same time with out muting the others!

if you already did that..and its still not working..
click on LFO mode which is f4 if im not mistaken..after that..for the love of god. you should see an option that says ONE SHOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

select that option and move the wheel to select NOTE ON if you want the sample to play as long as you have your finger on the pad. one shot plays the whole sample by pressing the pad once.

also somewhere in that menu there is an option for the pad to be mono/poly. ake sure its set to poly! and make sure there is no mute groups selected..which by default they shouldnt be but i might be wrong..

Well, I def do not know how to use it. You will not hear an argument from me there.
It is set to poly in program edit. I do want the pads to cut one another off. It's not the pads. I am not using Ren. I am using Studio if that matters.

If I do two bars of a kick and snare
and then try to put a hi hat over it when it loops back around I will no longer have the kick and snare. The hi hat will mute them even when it's overdubbing. It is set to poly. It is set to one shot. It worked at first but not today.

what operating system are you on?!

and did you post in the studio section of the forum?

they might've delt with this bug before and have found a fix.

if you havent already uninstalled and installed again do it. and see if it helps

i dont know what the differences between mpc ren/studio is.

so maybe i am giving you some wrong info. but im pretty sure its the same.

it should not be erasing/muting your other stuff ;(

O.K.. My bad. I get that part of it. Do not click create events. I got that. It just threw me cause it wasn't automatically there. Thank you. I still have the first issue though. I cannot overdub without the new samples muting the previously recorded ones.

Is mute group set to off for all your pads?

I have not set any mute groups. Honestly I don't even know how to. I would do that in program edit right? mute group if off.

Yes, in Program Edit, in the Pad Play Modes section, make sure that Mute Group is set to Off for each pad.

Yes it is set to poly. I want the pads to cut one another off while I'm performing. If I have samples loaded in I don't want to hit a pad and have the sample keep playing through when I hit the next pad. My issue is only when I overdub. When I overdub it mutes what I previously played.

I have no issue with the pads. The pads are fine. It's the recording. I can't overdub. In program edit it is set to poly. When I get home I will reinstall and see if that works. Or I will install on a different computer.

If you set a pad to mono, when you hit the same pad a second time, it will mute the previous hit and start playback of that pad/sample again.

Is that what is happening when you are overdubbing, or is one pad muting other/different pads?

If it is one pad muting other/different pads, it sounds like they are set to the same mute group, or the program is set to mono.

Not sure exactly what your problem is, hopefully someone else can spot it.

Are you actually pressing overdub-play, rather than record-play?
