How does this feature work exactly?? I want to global automate a Filterfreak effect on my master fx channel but I'm having trouble recording the effect. Anybody doing this correctly that can help?
I'm watching a couple of these tutorial vids but they seem to only explain program automation. I wanna automate everything and have control of taking the effect in and out.

from what I just tested, it looks like the master inserts can't be automated at this time... unless i seriously missed something. I hit q-link trigger on the ren so it was flashing which triggers automation write, wiggled the qlinks around, when i flipped back to read the values stayed the same, so there must be nowhere in the software to write the automation to at the moment.

hopefully a 1.7.2???

pituchez look at hellfires number of posts, and the date he joined this forum, now look at yours.

if you reread my post and hellfires post you'll see that we're referring to the MASTER fx not being automatable. the case you've given as an example has nothing to do with the master fx.

you seem to act like this forum has a 10 post per thread minimum. if you don't have an answer or aren't knowledgeable about the topic, just stay out of it. (and i'm telling you, you really don't know how to use this software and most of your posts spread misinformation before someone who actually knows the solution can answer it)

Also consider that he is a beta tester for MPC Software, so very possibly knows what it actually can and can't do.

No, sorry. You seem to be a nice guy, but you're about to "hijack" every thread around here, rarely trying to contribute anything to the OP's question. It's not really helpful - like on this topic - that you can "scratch" (while you just emulate scratching) pad fx, when the thread clearly concerns master fx. Instead, you show highly inappropriate and offensive behaviour directed to revered forum members participating for a long time (and I don't count myself in), who are mostly trying to help. You might try to help, but you mostly fail doing so.

Basically, you do write a lot, but don't have to tell anything.

---

Sorry, needed to blow some steam off, back to topic:

Indeed, I am sort of missing this feature, too. I noticed there wasn't a button for automation editing/reading added on the master track in 1.7, but didn't try that until now. I generally do that in my sequencer, anyway, but I definitely do understand that some people might like that feature. Without sidechaining capabilities this feature would be rather irrelevant to me, anyway.

Cheers.

This is my first mpc too, but I put years of learning stuff before I ever bought an MPC aka reading tutorials, watching youtube clips, READING forums (not shit posting every little thing i don't know that is already freely available by simply typing what you were gonna ask into google instead). a lot of the stuff you ask about pituchez is really f*ckn complex, no one in this forum has time to explain things that we all spent the time reading and learning about ourselves? how do I condense 2 hours of reading information about compression, 1 hour watching video clips and 20 hours experimenting with different plugins and settings over 6 months in a post that you can understand?? it's impossible, there are no shortcuts that we can just fill you in on you have to put the work in.

And for the topic master fx automation would be real useful for things like LP filter sweeps for people who work exclusively with the mpc software.

The reason that people ask questions is to get help from others who know the answer to those questions.

It is not so that they can waste time trying to get an incorrect answer to work, just so that you can learn.

If you don't know the answer, don't answer, wait for someone else to respond who does know, and then learn from their correct answer.
