Mpc Essentials Plugin in FL Studio 10

Hi guys, I have recently bought a MPC Element but I don't know how to use the Essentials plugin with FL Studio 10. Once loaded the plugin I can load and hear sounds if I press the MPC pads, but I can't record anything in FL's piano roll. Have I got to do something specifical in MIDI settings? Thanks, sorry for my ignorance but I'm a beginner.

well I am guessing the controller is going right to the pluggin and not registering the midi notes in fl? Does the controller make sounds on any other pluggin in fl? In the pattern window do you have the pluggin selected? (the little light next to it's rectangle is lit up?)

I don't have that pluggin so I don't actually know what is going on first hand.

oh okay well I think it isn't actually connected to the pluggin through fl studio... so that is the problem.

in the midi options window... in the input section, you should select "generic controller" in the drop down menu... make sure the "enable" box is checked for the controller you are using.

The pluggin might have an options menu that could be worth looking at as well.


Hey, in the pluggin's piano roll, can you click in notes manually and have it make sounds?

Nah, switch Essentials to MIDI Control Mode. THEn it can be used as a generic MIDI controller. If Essentials doesn't provide this mode: bad luck!
