Patterns in os2xl

Right im a long time 1000 user. Ive had a 1000 since they first came out.
Anyway i generally use the original os when i seriously sit down and make beats(i know this is not a popular thing but i find it so much faster to use)
After buying jjos ages ago i have decided just to learn the ins and outs over time and not fully switch to using it.

Ive recently come to the pattern section of of jjosxl2 and wondered how often people use this feature. And how do they fit this in to their work flow. do you have allot of patterns saved and load them in for drums? I guess that people mainly use this for drums and not bass lines or samples? Who actually uses the pattern feature?Or do you just ignore it?

basically im asking this because im still looking at whether or not its gonna make a huge difference to my workflow

with jj you pretty much gotta experiment with it to see if you like how it operates. i think its a logical feature and i like it but have not necessarily made a billion dollar hit with it yet. another thing i want to check out deeper is the patched phrase function.

Yeah true. I hear allot of people on the jjos train but the people i know who make money dont really use it.
Anyway yeah ive not delved into patch phrase too deep either. mainly just chop to new samples.
Another thing i used was OS3 and the tempo feature in the trim menu is extremely usefull. problem is there are big limitations with os3 which make it difficult to use!

people making money can buy whatever they want. yeah jjos is for nerds only... or self starters, those who dont mind a learning curve, those who have faith. ye of faith shall be rewarded! seek and ye shall find! ask and ye shall be given.

of course i dont consider it the end all be all. but i do like it waaay better than any akai BS (even my 4k). i also like things like boss dr5 if that tells you anything about my tastes... i also own a cirklon, some elektron gear, and now a behringer bcr2000 hacked into a midi step sequencer. i like variety!

i use it a lot. It is very powerful if you use it with some brains. You can make blank patterns that just have one midi CC for instance, so therefore a pad now sends a message to a synth and does what ever i want.
So make a few and stack em. like bass lines and beats and layer em live and even record it data wise.
so lately i make a bass line and then make patterns that just have midi CC data for the filter that loops say for a pattern of 2 or 4 bars and just hit a pad to make filter or LFO, pitch wheel data and the like change.
