I guess you have to convince Pete that it is a widespread problem, not just something weird going on with your particular computer.

I have this same bug and so does Nubian Mindz. I'm running windows 8, so I don't think it's a win 7 only problem. In 1.7 the mpc software wasn't reading the position of my mouse correctly, pads were highlighting while my mouse was nowhere near them. Sometimes with 1.7 drag n drop isn't working at all. I edited this post as I just checked and it's back to the buggy reading my mouse position wrong but drag n drop did at least work. last time I tried I got nothing, so it seems to be intermittent at least for me.

This could be the link.... Mouse pointer redraws.

It happened on my laptop as well for a sec when I was running base 1.7. Before I updated, I was getting the same behavior that my desktop was having, then this...

Exactly like you described it... After I updated to 1.7.1 on my laptop, it subsided. (as the vid shows) But, my desktop is still in the same shape, even after 1.7.1

update, seems to work under a fresh profile. So, I tried deleting the MPC local appdata in my original profile and was prompted to re-register upon re-installation. However, it still hangs when scanning plugs (even an empty dir) Anyone know how to completely clean up the installation to make it fresh?

Update, I resolved my plug-in issue by uninstalling 1.7.1 then re-installing 1.6, scanned my plugs and then installing 1.7.1 on top. After that no issues.

(i tried rolling back to 1.7 but that didnt work so I think going back to 1.6 was the key)

no direct record option for me. i dropped down to 1.7 to see if i lost it in that upgrade.
thing is i never used it in 1.7. so i try it out today. with both my motu 828mk2 and the Ren O/i and the option to "ADD Event " is not there.

Korg Kronos VST latest plugin version will not load in the MPC Ren software running on a Mini Mac. It fails during scan.

Anyone heard anything from Master P(ete) regarding the newer bugs we have been seeing?

Hi all, have 3 midi tracks going to outboard gear. After a while the unit becomes unresponsive and sending an all sound off CC does nothing, as does pressing play twice? No midi panic messages work and the MPC just keeps looping on its track but the hardware is non-reponsive. Whilst my experience so far with this MPC has been a very positive one, it seems every update there is another unidentified reason for it to crash? Anyone having these kinds of freezes happen on them, and if so what was the root of the problem and how did you rectify it?

I have a lot of vst plug ins that wont load into the mpc ren. program ...

Don't know if this bug was posted yet. if so, sorry that.

I get a total software crash when trying to use time correct/ swing for a range of pads (range mode) while playing back the constructed beat. It crashes right after presssing "do it". please fix this!! it just worked fine in 1.5/1.6.

Yes in answer to your question. Exact same thing. Maybe slightly improved with 1.7 as in it doesn't happen as much. As far as and answer to the problem?? Nope not been able to solve it. The unit simply gets overloaded with midi data then the unit crashes. The only solution I have is using a 10 point midi patchbay and not using the MPC physical outs. Set it all up in my Mac midi devices and it all works ok. Don't know if that helps man
