Hey Everybody ..Thank you for taking the time out to help me..This is my situation , I purchased an mpc 2500 with jjos xl on it ..This is my first beat machine and so far so good..I've learned a lot in the last couple weeks that I've had it by reading forums and checking out a ton of youtube videos...So I've learned to sample from cd/or sd/ chop it the way I want however I was told that through the mpc (and not computer software) there is a way to mute voices on a track that I sampled ..so for instance if someone is singing I can cute the vocals out ..Now I've looked through the jjos xl manual I've looked through the stock mpc manual I did see a silencing feature but that seems to silence a selected area completely ...thanks in advance for your response

you mean mute pad or track, mute is the mpc terminology for silencing a track or pad.

May I suggest you read the manual instead of watching youtube vids cos its all in there and would have answered your question.

press the track mute button and hit a pad. hey presto you have what your looking for.

as long as the vocal and any ambiance is mono center pan only it should work. however anything in the center channel is gonna disappear with the vocal like kick or bass :WTF:

Ah i see what ya doing. Yea centre cancel.
It aliases a lot though :(
I even tried to centre cancel then add that over an inverted normal version to try and phase out the sides / mids kinda thing but sounded horrible cos of the aliasing. o well.
