I run PT 10.3.9 on a PC, and it`s quite powerful, so I never had any issues running PT sessions with a lot of plugins and synths. After upgrading to 1.7, playback stops all the time, and I get error messages telling me I`m low on CPU or I have too many USB units connected. Rolled back to 1.6 and it works fine, but it`s too bad since the 1.7 OS is so much nicer.
Anyone here who knows any tricks to get around this?

Thanks!

Thanks! No, I haven`t tried that. Do you know any good tutorial for this? I have searched everywhere.
Just found out that it stops when I`m on 1.6 too. :x At least when I`m recording with it.

Pro Tools 11? Did it stop working after you set Machine Control to Enable in peripherals? I had that issue and then some how I got it to open up and then I disabled it and be back to normal. I think I open up a Pro Tools 10 project in Pro Tools 11.

Hey I am having the exact same problem. I run Pro Tools (firewire) on a Windows 7 PC with 8GB RAM and a nice processor. I have been through versions 8-11 in Pro Tools and have owned my MPC studio since about a month before official release. I have had no problem with any version of the MPC Studio software until 7.1 when I began to experience the same problems you described. I was hoping the issue would be resolved with the update 1.7.1, but no luck. The issue seems to disappear if I used Pro Tools 11 but since not all of my plugins have AAX versions (the new Pro Tools 11 standard) I use 10. I wonder if the issue could be the RTAS version of the plug in since the AAX plug in seems to work fine. I did also notice something interesting when visiting airmusictech.com, the company that makes Hybrid 3, one of the main attractions to the 1.7 software. The company does not appear to make/support an RTAS version of the plug in. It also says that the AAX version is qualified for ProTools 10.3 (32 bit), ProTools 11.x (64 bit). I did not know any version of Pro Tools 10 could support AAX. Could this be the problem? Has anyone tried installing the AAX plug in with Pro Tools 10? maybe Ill try this when I get home today. That Hybrid 3 is pretty nice as well as the two expansion packs provided with 1.7

I tried to only install the AAX version of the MPC software, but since it`s 64 bit, PT 10.3.9 can`t use it.

Update to my original post:
I just got a new PC. i7 4770 processor, 16 GB Ram = superfast PC. Still the d%&$mn MPC plugin makes Pro Tools stop.
I can use 10 instances of Nexus or Diva, and Reason is no problem, but as soon as the MPC is there, it stops. Even a session with only one track - the MPC - will stop. It happens when I start loading drums onto the pads and make some beats. They can be very simple, but it still happens.
So annoying, I can`t make music anymore  :WTF:

These are the error messages:
you are running out of cpu power. remove some native plugins or increase the CPU Usage Limit in the Playback Engine dialog. (-9128)

And:
the audio device buffer underflowed. if this occurs frequently try decreasing the "H/W Buffer Size" in the Playback Engine panel or remove other devices from the audio firewire bus. (-6085)

That`s tough.
Have you also experienced the kind of error messages I talked about?
