MPC 2000 Classic - Default sample name and default tempo

Hi! Is it possible to set default sample name and default tempo in MPC 2000 Classic? Thanks!

The tempo is saved with the ARR file. So you can set the tempo how you want it to boot with and save it as the default ARR on your boot disk (or Zip or whatever you use). Next time you turn on the 2000 it will boot with the tempo you've set.

The samplename is fixed unless ......you put the bootdisk into your PC (WARNING. Please make a backup copy of the bootdisk first!!) and load the EXE into a hex-editor. From there search for the words you want to change and change them.
This can ruin the boot disk if you go to far.

you could make a sort of template that gets autoloaded... make an ultra short sample, just a blank silence... chop it to the smallest possible size. name it the default name. Then make other changes you want (bpm, tap tempo average = 4, other features you always change) and save the APS and the SEQ to an OS boot disk. Then try turning it on and see what gets loaded, and what stuff stays... I don't think tap average will, but I have never payed attention either.
