Juno 106 as a master on MPC 2000XL. How to disable Sysex on

I'm mainly using my MPC as a sequencer. I've been using my Korg Poly 800 as my main midi controller for a while and everything's been fine. I finally got my Juno 106 back (from the shop) and I'd like to use it as my main controller.

When I do, and I try recording a sequence, it'll come back all messed up. Whole notes are cut, some don't play at all.

Having researched it a bit, I found that the issue may be that the juno is sending sysex info to the MPC, and the MPC can't handle the load.

All I really need is for the MPC to send out notes information through midi and nothing more (for now).

I had also read that filtering the MIDI in on the MPC to not let any sysex info through should fix the issue. However, I don't know how to do this. There is no Sysex on the midi in filter section...

Has anyone had this issue before? Any way around it?


BTW if I use the Poly 800 as my controller, record a sequence and send it through the MPC to the Juno, the Juno plays the sequence perfectly. The issue only arrises when the juno is used as the main controller.

Great, thank you. I'll try that tonight. I thought my only option was to manually turn all 127 filters to "off" and only allow the notes to go through.

Hey, wanted to thank you for this. There was no "easy" way to do it really, but I took the time to set everything on the filter to "NO" except for notes.

This solved the problem. I'll start turning on some midi features I'd eventually like to use and see how far I can get before the Juno and the MPC start messing up again.
