A Few Questions

How do I apply the 16 q-link effects to a sample on the Ren? It doesn't seem to be like the MPC-1000 where you open the q-link window, hit the sample and then you adjust how you want it to sound. :hmmm:

How do I extend the amount of regions in my sample when I set it to be chopped? In other words, I open the sample edit window, I hit chop, and there will only be 4 regions, or 6. I got a different number every time.

How do I apply low pass, high pass, mid boost filters? Can't find it. Unless it has to do with the q-link issue. :WTF:

I loaded all of those goddamn cd's that came with the Ren into my computer, and when I go to load the sounds into the current Ren project I'm working on, I can't find them anywhere. wtf? :vomit:

Some of these questions may sound stupid, but in 20 years Ive never used software with my hardware. Unless when recording. All ive really been able to do is make simple loops with subtle variations. It's killing me. Im sure all you beat makers and producers know the frustration of when you hear the next part of your beat in your head, go to apply it, get hung up with technical issues, and then the vibe is dead.

In Main Mode, choose the pad that the selected QLink applies to, and choose the parameter it applies to.

Choose PRG for it to change program settings, choose FX if you have inserted an effects plugin on that pad in the program mixer, and you want to assign the QLink to control one of those effects parameters.

If is defaulting to chop by threshold, increase or decrease the threshold amount to change the number of chops, or change to chop by regions, and then change the number of equal regions it chops into, or change to chop by BPM, and change the time divisions it chops by.

In the Program Edit page, you have the choice a different filter to apply to each sample, change it from Off to the chosen filter.

If you want more than that, add an effect plugin to the pad on the program mixer page.

The MPC Expansion CDs are installing plugins, you create a plugin track, and load the plugins onto that plugin track.

The main MPC Software CD has some factory content, if you installed that, you have to navigate to the folder it is stored in to use it.
