thanks distortedtekno for the info... really quad-core? can't be dual-core intel core i7? damn 2 grand for a quad-core, refurbs are at 1,5...

use to own a couple of roland sp's, love them, sample and go, but ive made more strides making beats visually but there are times i wanna make beats away from the computer cuz i feel like im editing more...

do you also own an MV? im asking cause i heard its like daw in a box? i duuno... im pretty familiar with the roland interface, never messed with an MV, use to own an sp-808, sp-606, 505, 404, 303..

is it me or is there a step up in audio quality when rewiring reason to reaper?

peace...

You could buy a dual core i7. But if you end up using some Rack Extensions, you'll take a significant CPU hit. I'm running an i5 dual core and it's not always enough.

I don't own an MV. But I've thought about buying one earlier this year. It's almost like a DAW in a box. But of course you'll have more features with software. Spend some time reading up on the MV to see if it's for you. They're relatively cheap these days. So it's always an option.

I've never noticed a step up in audio quality when ReWiring Reason to Reaper. Maybe it's possible that your audio setting in Reaper are set to a higher bit depth and sample rate?
