Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Up until yesterday, I had been saddled with a burdening situation the metronome of my MPC Studio. The only changes that could be made in its output level was either at maxed position, or zeroed out. Once zeroed, the ONLY way to get it back at its maxed point was in shutting the program down, and restarting. Now, though, it has even gotten worse. Since yesterday, NOTHING will cause change from the virtual knob's zero setting.

WHAT the heck is happening?

I think I have the same problem. If I try to click and drag the volume level knobs in the software it jumps to 0. I can however reliably change the value by using the scroll wheel on my mouse while the cursor is hovering over the control.

I also experience a bug with drag n drop, as do some other users on the forum, where the pads light up while the mouse is nowhere near them when dragging samples onto the pads in main mode from a windows folder or another program. Do you have the same problem?

The drag n drop bug was reported on the akai community site, and I also mentioned my metronome control problems in a reply to that report. If you only experience the metronome volume bug and not the drag n drop problems, I'll report it as a separate problem.

Congrats, you have just found another bug. Hopefully, it's not making you lose sleep.

Also, make sure you hit Pete Goodliffe [sp] on Tweeter once you submit it, So he can acknowledge it.

@petegoodliffe is his handle.

As far a I know, there is a 1.7.2 release in the works. No ETA in sight, so you may want to see if it can be squeezed in, if it hasn't already.

Thanks for responding.

No, I do not seem to have that one problem you've described; pads lighting up when your selected sample is nowhere near them. But your first paragraph gave me something to try. Until just now, I had only been using the finger pad on my laptop, for navigational/pointing purposes. I just plugged a conventional mouse into my laptop and - VOILA - I AM able to gain adjustable level positions by virtue of the scroll wheel. So, now, it is just a matter of me outfitting my laptop with its own dedicated mouse (this one belongs to my desktop pc, which is in the shop).

I appreciate your information, immensely, as it now has me BACK IN THE LOOP :-D.

Well, I HAD been really, REALLY concerned - as well as salivating for time to become 'one' with my machine. Man, I LOVE this Studio and - although I knew that I wanted one - NEVER thought that I would be so tightly drawn to it.

@Fdodds:

I JUST got myself a dedicated mouse for my laptop, and thought that all was well. Yes, your suggestion did help with the problem I had described, and that matter is still corrected. However, I just found something else wrong. In the far right section of the sequencer (Insert/Send box) I am having the same issue. The 'Pan' knob snaps to a 50L position with any activity being brought to it. Even hovering over it with the mouse pointer, and moving the scroll wheel does NOTHING to effectuate a change. The only thing to help it? Closing the program, and restarting. That's in the INSERT mode. Now, the same thing happens when in the SEND mode. But, in addition to that, NEITHER of the four knobs work AT ALL.

I am on 1.7.1, and hope that the next update fully corrects these, and (other expressed) found issues.
