CAN I RECORD A SAMPLE EG KEYBOARDS WHILST IN RECORD MODE IN ONE GO.

Tell me about it. Because it doesn't have that feature, I have to record synth parts into my computer and then import the wavs back into the MPC to use as samples. It's a pain in the ass because I strongly dislike using a computer unless absolutely necessary.

You do not have to do it this way. Actually if you do work this way then you are likely better off with a phrase sampler than an MPC.
Ideally you record a simple, one-shot sample in the MPC and then trigger that sample as necessary (at different pitches if needed) to create your music. Creative use of the loop feature (which 98% of MPC users have no idea what it is, much less even use it) along with the other limited abilities of the MPC's sample engine can go quite a ways in creating new and original sequences from scratch.
Regardless, if the MPC is able to trigger to keyboard sounds as needed and they sound good, why sample it into the MPC at all? There is no rule that you consolidate all your music into one piece of gear. Just go directly from the keyboard to your recorder and be done with it.

I'm sayin. Just multitrack..... lay your drums, or beat, or whatever from the MPC down. Then just play live over that sh*t into your multitracker (whether it be a piece of hardware, or your computer or whatever...)

we should have a discussion about composing techniques. A lot of the questions posted on the forum are scary, I can't imagine using the MPC without the loop feature. How can you not know what Multi timbral mode is .....I'm curious as to how most cats are writing their material ...are they sampling everydamm thing and just triggering them ?
