Hardware FX with MPC Ren?

Hi!

I've recently got myself a Strymon Timeline and I would really like to apply some effects to samples from the MPC Renaissance. Is it possible?

Right now I've managed to sent audio from my Moog Sub Phatty through the Timeline and into the MPC through PHONO IN which works great (appart from that I only get sound from the left speaker). I'm guessing there is a way to route a track/program through the assignable mix out 1/2, into the Timeline and then back to the Phono in? How would I get this to work? Or are there alternative approaches?

I've been doing this.
If you connect the assignable outputs to the inputs of the timeline
Connect the outputs of the timeline to the mpc inputs.

Then re-assign the pad to out 3/4 with the route button.

Then you can record the sample with delay.
Trim the sample and assign to the pad.

Don't forget to change the route back to " program" afterwards.

Also turn the Direct Mon knob round to input or you can get some nasty feedback.

I m not sure but I think the mpc60 had aux outs for routing hardware. but nowadays with vst plugins there is no need for hardware effects...

This worked just fine in the MPC software, but for some reason it doesn't work when you run the plugin inside of logic. But then again, nothing ever works when you try to run the plugin in logic.

Shit, I'm getting so tired of all this. It feels like there's so much things to fix before the mpc renaissance works like it should without giving you headaches all the time. Guess I'll just try to get rid of it and get myself a real mpc sometime soon.

Here's how I apply SP303 FX to samples in the Ren: Ren main outputs->SP303 inputs, SP303 outputs->speakers, SP303 headphone->Ren inputs 1/2.

I turn off monitoring to prevent a feedback loop. I find this way quicker than re-routing through the assignable mix.

Obviously this applies FX to everything going through the Ren so might not suit your workflow. I tend to resample pads individually without the song playing so it works for me.
