is it possible to program sequence changes

like if i wanted to play 16 bars in sequence 1 then automatically have the akai

I guess you'll have to manage your sequences in song mode.

If you wish to do this on the Akai itself, then you will have to do this via Song mode as was
stated before.

There is also an option to have program changes change sequences on the MPC 4000..
Then you can use an external sequencer to switch the MPC 4000's sequence.
